Sunshine Energy Pvt. Ltd. was established in August 2004 by Uttam Sitaula with a clear and forward-looking vision: to accelerate the adoption of clean, reliable, and sustainable renewable energy solutions across Nepal. At a time when access to dependable electricity remained a major challenge in many parts of the country, the company began its journey with a strong technical focus on solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services. Early projects primarily involved small-scale solar installations designed to meet immediate power requirements for residential homes, community institutions, and essential service facilities, laying the foundation for technical credibility and client trust.

As Nepal's energy needs and policy environment evolved, Sunshine Energy responded with continuous innovation and capability expansion. The company progressed beyond standalone solar systems into integrated hybrid energy solutions and microgrid engineering, combining solar photovoltaic generation, battery energy storage, and backup generation technologies. These advanced systems enabled stable and dependable electricity supply in remote, off-grid, and high-altitude Himalayan regions, where conventional grid infrastructure is limited or unreliable. Through this strategic transition, Sunshine Energy strengthened its role not merely as a solar installer, but as a comprehensive renewable energy engineering partner.

Over the years, the company has successfully collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) programs, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and development partners. By delivering numerous solar, hybrid, and community electrification projects across diverse geographical regions of Nepal, Sunshine Energy has contributed meaningfully to rural electrification, social development, and climate-resilient infrastructure. These partnerships reflect the organization's commitment to aligning technical excellence with national energy priorities and sustainable development goals.

Through more than two decades of continuous operation, Sunshine Energy has evolved into a dedicated and technically proficient team of approximately 20 professionals, integrating hands-on field experience with modern engineering design, quality installation practices, and long-term system maintenance expertise. The company has installed approximately 500 kWp of solar generation capacity across completed projects, while an additional 287 kWp of grid-connected solar energy systems are currently under implementation, demonstrating sustained growth and an active contribution to Nepal's expanding renewable energy sector.
